Everyone ready for yet another ’80s TV series set to be adapted into a movie?
No? Well too bad!
Sony Pictures and Escape Artist recently renewed their first look deal until 2015, and one of their first projects will be a new version of the old school CBS crime drama The Equalizer, which told the story of an aging New York vigilante with a mysterious past, with Denzel Washington stepping into the role that Edward Woodward originated!
Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal says:
“We have been partners with (Escape Artists) for more than a decade and we trust them implicitly for a simple reason: they have first-rate taste. They carefully choose the projects that they want to make and they have a very focused and disciplined development process. We couldn’t be more thrilled to continue our collaboration with them.”
Despite our distate with the constant remakes being pumped out in Hollywood, we actually think this has potential to be pretty cool translated into modern day!
And of course, Denzel is always decent incentive for an action movie!
What do U think?? Will U check this one out??

Last night David, Eden and I made our way to the Broadhurst Theatre to see the new one man show Hugh Jackman Back on Broadway. Because I missed seeing him on stage the last time he performed on Broadway, I was very excited to see him LIVE and in action. To be honest, the show wasn’t really my fave show ever … but that’s because I’m really not the target audience. That being said, Hugh is an amazingly charismatic performer and we all had a great time last night.

So … the show … isn’t really a “show” show. There is no story. It’s basically 2 1/2 hours of Hugh Jackman singing showtunes and telling jokes. For the most part, his charm is able to make the show enjoyable … but I’m not a big fan of old show tune songs so I really wasn’t all that into it. I was very impressed with Hugh‘s performance tho … he is able to keep the audience’s attention for the entire show. And let’s be real, the man is beautiful to look at. All he has to do is look you in the eye and wink and you’re done for, fan for life. You spend all your time watching him rather than paying attention to the fact that there really isn’t a show at all. The older folks in the crowd loved every second of the performance. The big Hugh Jackman fans will be very entertained, I’m sure. Again, while Hugh Jackman Back on Broadway wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever seen, I am very happy that I got to see Hugh Jackman perform live. We had fun, you might too.
Tonight I will be making my 7th trip to the McKittrick Hotel to see Sleep No More one last time. I’m taking my friend Kanani so we plan to have a great time. I say it will be my “last time” seeing the show but, well, you just never know. At this point, I think this will be my last visit so … I plan on enjoying every second of the performance. The weather has gotten considerably colder here in NYC so … oy! My BFF Sarah will be flying in from Detroit late tonight for this weekend’s Tori Amos shows here so … things are just starting to get really fun
Happy Thursday!

Florence Covers Drake!

Check out Florence + The Machine’s absolutely STUNNING rendition of Take Care by Drake and Rihanna, which she performed during her set for BBC Radio 1′s Live Lounge yesterday (above)!
Gives the song an entirely new and different vibe, right?
And there she [...]
Could it be?
We’re not counting her mugshot collection our chickens yet, but maybe, just maybe, a little structure – and the imminent threat of serious consequences – was all that our Lindsay Lohan has so desperately needed these past few years!
As we’ve reported, the former actress has been court-ordered by Judge Stephanie Sautner to clock in around 12 eight hour shifts a month at the El Lay County morgue, as part of her community service sentence, but apparently, gurlfriend is FINALLY come to her senses and is taking her new job very seriously – and is even AHEAD of schedule!
According to sources with law enforcement, LiLo has gotten 10 out of her 12 shifts this month done, with another three weeks to spare, and even wants to get a head start on the hours she has due for her second status hearing in January!
Furthermore, she has been described as “polite,” “hard-working” by her co-workers!
Well, we have to say – with some well-justified trepidation – we’re impressed!
We just hope that she can keep it up!
Fingers crossed!
